A team of volunteers is an integral part of making the River City Ball a successful one. If you are willing to dedicate your time on July 12, 2008 and would like to participate, please contact Ramey Danielson at

The following exciting volunteer positions are available. Please see the description of the positions.
Check in desk
- Ensure all competitors are properly registered for competition events and paid as they check in
- Sell remaining tickets at the door
- Sell programs
- Communicate with Marshalling and Floor Manager to advise of cancellations
- Answer general questions from guests
Door Attendant
- Check audience tickets at entrance to ballroom
- Facilitate movement of guests and competitors within, into and out of the ballroom
- Patrol all entrances and exits to/from ballroom area
- Identify and contain security-related problems and notify event coordinator or building security
Deck Captains
- Position is appropriate for experienced competition volunteers or ex-competitors only
- Organize competitors to enter ballroom for each competition round, in On-Deck area
- Call competitors from dressing rooms and elsewhere as necessary; count couples; determine whether heats should be added or cancelled; communicate constantly with Registration
Floater/Runner
- Assist wherever necessary
- Could involve working in several different positions over one shift
- As Runner: Collect marking sheets from judges at the end of competition rounds and give to Scrutineer
- As Runner: Sit or stand unobtrusively at edge of ballroom during competition rounds without blocking audience sight lines
Setup/Take-Down
- Assist in setting up ballroom and lobby area (decorating tables, positioning vendor tables posting signs and hanging banners, etc.)
- Assist in clearing the ballroom and lobby area
Trophies/Awards
- Backstage, assist Trophies Coordinator in organizing trophies and other awards
- Ensure trophies and other awards are in order for presentation to correct competitors
- Assist during awards presentations
