On Friday March 20th Portland Dancesport celebrates its Grand Opening with Portland Dancesport “Blooms”, a dance event for anyone and everyone! Attend a Beginning Rumba and Hustle class from 8-9 p.m. followed by open dancing from 9-11 p.m. Throughout the open dancing we will be featuring professional and pro-am performances by Portland Dancesport and local professionals.

“FEELIN’ GOOD”: Debut Performance of Portland Dancesport’s affiliate professional dance company Sugarbomb.
Enjoy an evening of song and dance with a musical floor show reminiscent of the 1940s era!
Portland Dancesport hosts its affiliate professional company Sugarbomb in its debut performance. A song and dance troupe of talented female entertainers provide a glitzy revue of popular musicals of the era in an intimate setting.
A Swing and Lindy Hop dance lesson by well known Portland instructors Andrew and Ida Slac is provided with open dancing and show afterward. Light hors d’ oeuvres will be served.

River City Ball

It is time to mark your calendars for the annual River City Ball, Oregon’s only all-amateur dance competition presented by Willamette Chapter #1006 of USA Dance! It will be held this year on Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11, 2009 at the Scottish Rite Temple in downtown Portland.
There will be a Welcome Dance Friday night (July 10th) at The Scottish Rite Temple from 7:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.
UPDATE: the start time has changed from 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All competitors should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled heat. Please View current entries for the approximate times for each heat.
