The Eastern is offering a series of Open Pro-Am Championships in support of AdMeTech Foundations’ Dance for the Cure of Prostate Cancer. Proceeds will go toward research and education of early detection tools. There will be one championship per style, open to all ages!

On February 20th join us for lessons by some of the world’s greatest teachers and competitors!

The camp will feature classes by:

The Camp will begin at 10 AM and finish at approximately 4 PM. Classes will be offered in all four styles at levels from beginner through advanced.

The cost is $30/session or $125 for an all-session pass.

DVIDA School Members receive a discount: $25/session or $100 for an all-session pass.

2011 CHAPTER #1006 ELECTIONS

The Portland chapter of USA Dance, #1006, will hold the annual election for the board of directors this month of November. Any and all members in good standing are encouraged to join the board and help make this chapter even stronger than it is. The chapter needs, and wants, enthusiastic spontaneous lively energetic bright full of ideas creative, volunteers who will put in the time with their fresh perspective as to how to make Portland #1006 the best chapter in District 1, if not the nation. I mean that, and it can be achieved. All it takes is you!

This years River City Ball has come and gone. Another year, another fantastic, fun dance competition! This was truly a success for the Portland chapter of USA Dance! This wonderful competition could not have taken place, not have been as successful as it is, not have run as smoothly, effortlessly, and problem free, had it not been for the dedication of our incredible, super-duper volunteers.

This is a big THANK YOU to ALL of you, those who volunteered to register the dancers, who sat throughout the comp at the snack bar/table, who kept the dancers in line/on time as deck captains, who made sure dancers complied with the dress code, took the cash, checked the admissions, made sure that the adjudicators were comforted. I can go on and on. It is the volunteer that makes for a successful organization host a successful event. Without them, all is lost, for naught.

Well done volunteer. Thank you.
